As time goes on, I am searching for more and more ways to better my blog and think up new ideas that will be of interest to people. For now, I want to chat about New Hampshire and the many incredible people I met along the way.
New Hampshire is a neat state. Not far from Boston and complete with an epic music scene, New Hampshire is a great place to be raised.
Having lived in Auburn, NH for over 21 years, I often miss the quiet and even rich atmosphere. If you drive through Auburn, you'll find attractive spots such as Massabesic Lake and a bar or two that has live music on the edge of town. Every morning, we would pass through Massabesic Lake on the one and only Chester Rd. Chester Rd is a beautiful scenic road that is well promoted by the town and has City Hall as well as cozy parking locations to watch over the lake. Beyond the lake and high class school district, the thing that I loved most about being raised in Auburn NH is the many awesome people that I went to school with. I hope one day to return to Auburn and sing my songs on top of the famous rock that looks over the whole lake.
Moving on from Auburn, Manchester is where I met a whole bunch of people as well.
With groovy music venues such as MIlly's Tavern and Raxx Billiards, Manchester's music scene was always booming with awesome sounds.
In between Auburn and Manchester, you'll find Tupelo Music Hall where there was always an entertaining crowd and friendly folks.
This holiday season I want to chat about an artist that I recently had the pleasure of meeting in New York and who is shaping the future with her unprecedented music style.
Piece By Piece is just one of the songs off Megan Talay's latest EP, Piece By Piece. Given that this is Megan's first EP to post to iTunes, the ratings and feedback regarding her innovative and original musical style are all entirely positive and people are raving!
While listening to Megan Talay's EP, Piece by Piece, you notice that Underside is one of the tracks that carries the EP. Underside is one of those tracks that sends goosebumps souring down your arms and stands the hair straight up on the top of your head. With a connection to The Beatles, I really love Underside and all that you hear while streaming the track. From the intro guitar lick, to the one of a kind, Talay, key change, Underside is hit! It brings you, and invites you on a swaying journey from start to finish. I highly recommend it. Excellent song.
Immediately after Underside follows my favorite track on the EP, Forever in My Hand. It is rare that you come across lyrics that are this beautiful and this relate able. The song paints a picture about life and asks excellent questions regarding the grand scheme of it all. After listening to the song, I found the line "To leave behind a cog that winds in the machine" to be one of the most brilliant ways to wind down a song with lyrics that are already unmatched and excellent. Leaving you breathless and wanting more, Forever In My Hand, is another incredible song.
Piece By Piece is a good example of how positive of an effect music can have on the industry, when there is a lot of time and devotion that went into recording. Megan's music is inspiring and well thought out as there are not many EP's I know of for sale that are as catchy and addicting. From Light The Way to Just Fine, Megan provides us with 5 chart topping songs. Each song lending something new and sharing an insight into the world of music that not only gives us goosebumps, but helps us through each day.
I still remember meeting Megan for the first time and listening as she tore up the stage with a groundbreaking and pop/rock style. I can feel goosebumps all around as I begin to express my feelings and gratitude to have met such a world class artist. Much love and warmth goes to Megan as she is working tirelessly and harder than most out there on tour and in the studio. Bringing together musicians for the great purpose of making music, Megan is showing us all that music is something we can work on together that will help cure us and soothe our souls. Without further a due, I ask you to go on a lend a caring ear to a sound that is so good, you won't even believe it. A sound that is right on and to the point. A sound that is lyrical and friendly. A sound that others just cannot create quite the same. A sound that is, Talay. It has been a pleasure listening to her EP and her recent success is heart warming and I hope that you find the same peace and serenity while listening.
